I was looking at some old pictures on my computer of me when I was a child and of my grandparents...and suddenly I thought that, it would have been an interesting theme to investigate and explore the boundaries between youth and senility, therefore, I produced some brainstorming and some drawings to compare an old man and the many wrinkles covering his face, with a young woman and her soft, bright skin. I found the theme quite interesting because it allows me to explore further and I have a clear overview of how creating new ideas for a project relating to this theme.

You could do some interesting work with photoshop - morphing between youth and old age.
ReplyDeleteThe passage of time and the stories behind the wrinkles could be a very interesing theme
I think that that's a pretty interesting theme also as you COULD look at the wrinkles on a baby (feet, hands etc...) and that of an old person. as morgan said, there could be some pretty cool morhping stuff going on between the ages in photoshop. how were you planning on developing this further?
ReplyDeletei find this a really good idea, i like the idea of contrast between young and old, and it could be a useful base for a theme as it is not VERY direct but it has enough directions in which you can take it
ReplyDeletei really like your idea!! your work is interesting because its different and unexpected. good theme for next year as J said. also i think the page is very interesting- the way the old man is peering through the gap, almost like he's looking into time, could be memories and the past??
ReplyDeleteI found this idea quite interesting too...it's something I never really explored and I have also been inspired by the sculptures of hands Suzy's doing...although in this case it wouldn't be sculptures, but drawings, in two contrasting colours (probably all in black and white using different techniques) enhancing and emphasizing all the details of the structure of the human skin, from childhood to senility. I was probably thinking of dividing each into a range of years, and relating it to colours of my choice, and do a drawing for each. I also found morphing on photoshop an interesting idea because I could link the 2 together. I could technically do some 'babies' in which I morph pictures together.
